The Medical Whirlwind: A Praise Report
Posted by kathy on November 5th, 2007. Filed under: Blessings.I’ve been a little slack in posting the last few weeks simply because I’ve been to overwhelmed to put my thoughts and feelings into words. There has been a whirlwind of health issues to surface over the last few weeks.
First, there was an abnormality in my liver enzymes in my bloodwork. My doctor (Dr. Suzy Kim of Gastroenterology Associates of Greenville–an absolutely amazing physician!), always e’ers on the side of caution. Rather than waiting to see how things would pan out over time, she sent me for more bloodwork and for a CT enterography of my abdominal organs. I get a phone call last week that my liver, kidneys, and spleen all look normal.
Then 2 days later I get another phone call. “It’s nothing life threatening, but we need to get you in here immediately to come up with a plan.” I was slightly freaked out. I prepared myself for the worst and even had my mom go along with me for moral support. It turns out that my ileum was destined for another severe outbreak of Crohn’s and if we didn’t treat it agressively and immediately that I would be facing some pretty serious damage.
Praise the Lord all that was required was a change in my medication. It’s so wonderful how God provides in the tough times. I’ve seen him provide in so many ways lately that I can’t even begin to describe what he has done for me. I’m just so thankful he IS there for me!
