Introducing Kathy Ward Photography

For the last two years, I have had an interest in photography. I started out photographing flowers, trees, animals, and pretty much anything that would stand still long enough for me to snap a photo of it. This little hobby expanded over to children. A very dear friend contacted me in May of 2010 and asked if I would be willing to photograph her daughter. I was terrified and almost cancelled the session. I’m so thankful I didn’t cancel. Since then I have had the opportunity to capture memories for so many family and friends and now the rest of the world.

In July of 2011, Kathy Ward Photography officially opened for business. The doors of opportunity have opened in more ways than I can begin to explain. It has been a pleasure to meet so many faces and photograph your families.

And I’ll leave you with one of my favorite images from this year. Two very dear friends of mine contacting me about a fall session. The sky was brilliant and these two couldn’t have been more perfect models.

Dear Sony,

I love your cameras. I have a sickness that requires me to purchase additional lenses and accessories that compliment my camera. I love my 230, but it’s a little too noisy for me…luminance noise that is. It would be such a loving and wonderful gesture if you would donate another camera to me. The a55o would be great and the a850 or a900 would be superb!

So my dear Sony, as soon as you feel the need to make a donation in my name, I’ll very happily accept!

A Rooster with an Identity Crisis

On our trip to the Dillard House, we visited their petting zoo. And among other animals in their petting zoo, they had a Rambouillet Ewe with lamb and a rooster. The rooster was confused. He fully believed the ewe was his lady friend. The ewe didn’t seem to mind, although I really don’t think she could feel what he was doing.

Meet the rooster with an identity crisis. We’ll call him Foghorn.

And this is his lady friend. We’ll call her Molly. And no, that isn’t her lamb climbing on her back. It a little kid goat who had taken up with her. Seems to be a trend here.

And now Foghorn approaches his mistress.

A Hiking Trip

On Saturday, Jerrad and I took a trip to the river to do a little fishing, a little picture, taking and a little hiking. The air was a little cool and crisp but it was perfect weather. I took a few pictures and tried to get the silky effect on the water. Unfortunately, the sun was too bright and most of my “good” shots were blown out. I will not, however, post pictures that Jerrad took of me trying to climb back up the mountain…all 200ft of straight up, rope climbing, slick-leafed mountain. And I won’t post the picture of me sitting down on a tree root, catching my breath because I really thought my heart was going to explode. But I did make it out. Barely. lol!

I love the sun flare in this one.

My two favorite things to take pictures of…water and my husband!

Ghost man decided to join us.

Some wild dogs playing on the river’s edge. And by wild, I mean our wild border collies.

And yes, he did catch some fish. Two fish.

And one day, he will pay for this…

See the drop off beyond where I’m sitting (dying)? I had just climbed up that hill. See that dog on the right? He climbed up and down the hill about 4 times before I made it to the top.
